You can tell right away that Boat’s Home Furnishings is a large store. But once you come inside and discover room setting after room setting, you know you’ll have to set aside some time to see it all.
We arrange our home furnishings and accessories in room settings so you will be inspired by hundreds of great decorating ideas.
Many of our customers are repeat customers that visit frequently because our inventory is constantly changing, so there’s always something new to see. Even easily bored husbands enjoy looking through our store.
Pella’s Heritage
As a furniture store like no other, we are pleased to be a part of a town like no other. Historic Pella, Iowa possesses “A Touch of Holland.” You’ll see it in the old-world charm of our brick streets and Dutch storybook storefronts.
As a winner of Iowa’s “Tourism Community of the Year,” it’s always a good time to visit Pella for dining, recreation and sightseeing. No time is more popular than May when the entire town blooms during Tulip Time.
Boat’s has been a part of Pella since the late 19th century when the building housed Awtry & Lankema, a combined furniture store/funeral home. After narrowing the scope of the business to home furnishings (thank goodness!), the store became Boat’s in 1938.
Owners Harlan Van Vark, Doug Van Gorkom and Marv Roozeboom have now been a part of Boat's for decades. Each is a hands-on owner and home furnishings expert, here to help you whenever you need them.
